Camps & Workshops Explanation

BOB DWYER'S RUGBY CAMPS offer a great opportunity for clubs, schools or other groups to kick-start their use of the site. Up to one hundred and twenty (120) players, maybe, sixty (60) coaches will be given an intense grounding in the content of the manual, over the course of our three-day or five-day camps.

Our Camp philosophy is "Practice doesn't make perfect, only perfect practice makes perfect"

Bob Dwyer's Rugby Camps will provide expert tuition in teaching and coaching the techniques and skills of the game. Each technique and skill practice will require the perfect execution of a number of "key factors". They are simple, but without them, your skill execution will be flawed and will break down under pressure. It will be the coaches role to ensure perfect practice every time.
Camps are organized at U12, U13, U14 and U15 age levels over a 3 or 5 day period.
Specialist camps are available for boys aged 16 to 19 tailored to the demands of the modern game, as well as your requirements as their coach.
All camps will be staffed by experienced teachers and coaches. A special feature of the camps will be visits by top club and International players to demonstrate their skills and work with the players.
All camp participants will receive Bob Dwyer's and sponsor's merchandise and clothing, and, where appropriate, a DVD of their participation in skills and game scenario practices.

BOB DWYER'S RUGBY WORKSHOPS have as their goals the improvement in the quality of rugby played at all levels and the achievement of parallel development of coaches and players.

The Workshops focus on coach education and support.
At our camps, coaches will be able to both observe and participate in working with players.
Pre-camp meetings will outline the role of "you the coach", and there will be daily review sessions to discuss the day's work.
We will teach technique and coach performance.
We will maintain contact with all coaches who attend our camps and workshops, through our interactive web site and through use of our coaches' forum.
Periodically coaching topics and questions will be posted on the site so all website members will be able to take part in open discussion with coaches from all parts of the world.
Our workshops will make practice sessions more targeted, enjoyable and effective. They will give coaches experience in planning effective sessions, with coaching themes and conditioned games that challenge, develop and improve both players and coaches.
Our workshops will assist coaches to develop a style, and rapport with players.
